Day 3: Poison

Inktober 2017 is here! Huzzah!

For Inktober 2017 I’ve decided to use the official prompt list and interpret them as creatures/monsters. The goal is to do a small page of shape exploration, and then a more detailed drawing of the shape I think best represents the prompt. Here’s today’s: Swift.

Plus bonus drawings because I really like the brush pen I got:

Digital Paint Study

Did a study of this concept painting from Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. I wish I knew who painted the original image!

My study

It's been too long!

It's been a nutso month. I've mainly been working on 2 different projects that I can't post about yet, and I haven't been able to do much drawing other than that. I did get these D&D sketches done during our last session though:

Backpacking in the lower Sierras

Went on a 3-day backpacking trip in the lower Sierras. We hiked up to Cottonwood Lakes at 11,000 feet. It was absolutely city noise, no people. Just the mountains, trees, lakes, and fresh pine air.

Got some drawing in, too!

Fought 3 of these things during our last D&D session. I sketched one during the battle.

An oldie, but a goodie

A painting from a couple of years ago. I still like it, though. This is a small corner of my grandpa's farm. I would shoot archery up against the old chicken coop. Summers there were always the best.

I think some day I want to do a series of paintings themed around the farm. I'm always so notsalgic about going back there.

Plein Air painting from last week

Forgot to post it!
